Liberty Safe Company Breaches Trust in Viral FBI Raid: Not So Liberty, Not So Safe According To Right Wing
Liberty Safe, a gun safe manufacturer, is now allowing customers to have their safe combination records deleted. This move comes after backlash over the company's decision to give the FBI access
This move comes after backlash over the company's decision to give the FBI access to one customer's safe.
Customers can fill out a form to have their access code records removed, giving them more control over their information, according to a statement released by Liberty Safe on Wednesday evening.
Earlier that day, Liberty Safe revealed that the FBI had requested the access code for a safe on August 30. The company complied after seeing proof of a warrant. The safe in question belongs to Nathan Hughes, a 34-year-old charged with felony civil disorder and several misdemeanors related to the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Now whether you agree or disagree this individual or anyone else deserves to be investigated for something they may or may haven’t done, this is a trust issue. Anytime a situation arises, especially when the optics are showing a government agency, in this case the FBI, seizing codes to a gun safe. Well, truthfully it just makes the right leaning conservatives nervous. More than half the country already believes we have some deep rooted corruption inside the FBI. In addition, people also have a lot to say about competence due to the secret service blunders with DEI moving higher and higher in criticism and complaints among American media. If I worked for the FBI I would seek out my fellow leadership and just be tactful so as to maintain and protect that deeply important citizen trust. The FBI is an elite and just organization, but they follow orders from leadership that seems to hide their bias until some national event takes place revealing.
